Villa Catalana Cellars is excited to again partner with Ping & Woof Opera and Field
& Vine Events, Sunday August 17th at 6:00pm (gates open at 5:00pm) for an evening
of opera, exquisite food and fine wines in our gardens. This promises to be a summer
evening event to remember, as 6 musicians from Ping & Woof perform moving
selections from the world of opera between dinner courses and after dessert.
The program will feature a few teasers from our August 24th presentation of Mozart’s
Cosi fan tutte, as well as beloved opera favorites from Puccini to Bizet.
Ping & Woof Opera was founded in 2014 and have been bringing opera to the
Willamette Valley since that time. The popular Nessum Dorma from Puccini’s Turandot
will be performed as well as other favorite arias. Works by Verdi, Offenbach, Thomas,
Donizetti and Bizet will be performed by musicians: Rebecca Sacks, mezzo-soprano;
Jocelyn Claire Thomas, soprano; Anthony Nuygen, tenor; Zachery Lenox, baritone;
DeAndre Simmons, bass and Nathalie Fortin, pianist.
Field & Vine Events have been creating dinners for years at some of the best wineries
in the Willamette Valley and will create a special five-course dinner served family-style
with our wines paired with each course. The farm-to-table dinner menu will likely be as
listed, but since this is a dinner crafted from local ingredients, last minute changes to
the menu may happen due to what is in season. Wine is included in the price.
